Planning - Examples of Film Posters

Friday the 13th's film poster is very simple and bold. It clearly shows the killer in the middle with the background faded slightly. The film name is in red which clearly stand out ontop of the black background.

Mirrors has a simple design and has a reflection to symbolize a mirror. If I had not known it was a horror film I would have said the film poster is more for a thriller as there are no obvious horror traits such as gore or killer.

Hostel uses a powerful image of a man with a drill down his throat. The background is dark and the image kept simplistic. The poster tells me that the film is about some sort of torture is i would expect to see some very graphic images.
